My name is Sandra. I’m 44 years old. I’ve been married for 14 years and we have 2 sons (10 and 13), 2 stepsons and a stepdaughter (who are old enough to be on their own). And we have a fur baby, Kaiser, a white mid-size schnauzer. We live in the Hudson Valley in New York State, where I’ve lived my entire life. I’m an certified public accountant and work in a small CPA firm.
I didn’t have any weight issues until I had my children. I gained 40 pounds with each child and left 10 on after each pregnancy. I joined WW for the first time in September 2000, when my second son was six months old. By March of 2001 I’d lost all of the weight, made lifetime and felt great! But since then I gained it all back and more.
In December 2008, I worked the program again. I lost 20 pounds, but still had 20 to go. That’s where it ended -- I gained it all back plus 5 more and I knew I had to do something.
I’d tried other diets in between and lost and gained. I knew WW worked, but needed accountability and knew I would not get to meetings.
That’s when I happened upon the SOP thread. It has been truly amazing. This group of women is the best. They’re completely honest, even when you don’t want them to be ;-) Their honesty comes from their caring nature. My eating habits have completely changed and it is all due to the feedback I’ve received. They’re truly an inspiration.
Since I began posting on the SOP thread on September 11, 2010, I’ve lost 18 pounds. I currently weigh 160 pounds and I am 5’ 3.” I’m almost half way there. My goal weight is 140 pounds. I’ve done this all by changing my diet and eating habits. I have not been exercising, though I hope to add in some soon. If I’m any indication, the key to weight loss is food intake.
I am extremely grateful to this extraordinary group of women for their support and friendship.
